Pre-school  (Playgroundology)

Playgroundology is the educational philosophy that we follow through the early years of your child’s education at Elkanah House. Play is not just a waste of time; it is the most important way that young children learn, and it has been demonstrated to be vital to human well-being throughout life. As a school, we facilitate developmental play that is scientifically established to optimally nurture a child’s brain so that they are ready to thrive academically.

At Elkanah House our young students learn:

  • initiative, as we encourage them to explore their environment naturally so that they deepen their learning through natural curiosity;
  • relationship, as foundations are developed through caring connections that teach social norms, collaboration and natural human boundaries;
  • advanced thinking, as the learning methods encourage them to play, connect and question deeply in a positive environment.

Primary and High School
(Independent Examinations Board)

As part of our whole-child education philosophy and our commitment to deliver the most relevant academic standards, we apply the IEB assessment method throughout the primary and high school years.  The benefits to your children are:

  • integrated and creative teaching methods are adopted to ensure that students are mastering the vital skills of collaboration, complex system thinking and creative application;
  • technology is integrated in an appropriate and progressive way;
  • practical and academic subjects are offered as part of the IEB, which enable students with a variety of talents and interests to develop their skills;
  • university advantage, as the high marking standards of the IEB align to the levels required at university. Statistics show that 98% of IEB entrants graduate, compared to 50% of students who have been assessed through the government examining body;
  • advanced programme Maths and English, which are subjects equivalent to A-Levels are offered to       Grade 12.
