Siyenza Zone @ Elkanah House

We are very excited to announce the opening of our Siyenza Zone in January 2021 at our Sunningdale Campus.

This creative thinking space is a newly-designed centre for the exploration and development of coding, robotics, design and technology skills.

Towards the end of last year the World Economic Forum released its updated “Top Job Skills for 2025”. Among the top ten skills are; analytical thinking and analysis, complex problem solving, technology use and monitoring, and technology design and programming. The release of this statement is perfectly timed as it coincides with our decision to restructure our coding and design and technology offering at Elkanah House. 

Siyenza is the Xhosa word for “we do” or “we create” and we feel this epitomises the core philosophy of what we are striving to achieve in this creative thinking space.

Pupils from Grade 3 to 6 will have the wonderful opportunity to develop and grow their thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, through a structured programme incorporating coding, robotics, design thinking, and more, using various platforms and equipment. 

We are currently hard at work to create a vibrant, inviting area for our students to work in and are looking forward to opening this new space and the wonderful opportunities it will present to our pupils to prepare them for an ever-evolving future.
